Channel 4’s new hit series For the love of Cars, a journey of restoration, exploration and celebration have used Evans Waterless Coolants to help ensure the iconic classics featured in the show receive the ultimate engine protection.
The show pays homage to six British classics, the Ford Escort Mexico, Land Rover Series 1, Mini Cooper, MGTC, DeLorean and Triumph Stag. Philip Glenister, actor and car fanatic joins forces with Ant Anstead, internationally renowned car designer to scour the UK for potential vehicles to receive the perfect restoration. While Ant gets to work on the cars, Philip catches up with the owners to reveal the funny, touching and often unexpected stories behind the everyday classics.
Evans Coolants are the choice of many leading classic car specialists and restorers including Ten Tenths, Eagle E-Types, JD Classics, Clayton Classics, Desmond J. Smail and Rimmer Bros.
Unlike water, Evans coolants contain no oxygen or minerals and so eliminates corrosion and with a boiling point in excess of 180 degrees prevents hot spots caused by pockets of steam. Evans also allows the cooling system to run at a lower pressure which in turn reduces stress on components. The waterless coolants will not freeze even at temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius and with the boiling point at an impressive 180 degrees celsius, eliminates overheating, boil-over and after-boil.
The series culminates in the finished cars going to a public auction to see if all the blood, sweat and tears have been worth it. Will they achieve a price which reflects the guts and glory of the restoration?
Series 1 of For the love of Cars is currently running on Channel 4, Sunday 8pm.
